Makinilya is a free typing test. We keep things simple and collect as little as possible.
What we store
Your appearance preferences and anonymous scores are saved locally in your browser. When Firebase is enabled and you sign in, we may also store your Google profile details, account identifier, and submitted typing scores so rankings and account history can work across devices.
Google sign-in and Firebase
Google sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication. Authenticated requests send a short-lived Firebase identity token to our Next.js API, which verifies it before reading or writing profile and ranking data in Cloud Firestore. Firebase and Google process this data under their own privacy terms.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage (such as how many tests are completed). This data is not used to identify individual visitors.
